When the work week gets you down, let a few simple exercises spice life up for you. This writer finds that exercises you can do without accessories or group sporting events makes for greater convenience. Examples of exercises without accessories are push ups or sit ups. Making time to do even a few of these simple exercises will be enough to get your blood circulating, although 30 minutes a day is recommended. Simply remember that good habits are the culmination of many good small decisions. Some people prefer to keep to a scheduled routine while others prefer the spice of variety in their exercise.

Jogging

This should be a staple in everybody's routine. With summer fast approaching it's time to dust off the jogging shoes and hit the pavement.

Push Ups

If you can't perform a standard push up, you can do them with your knees on the floor. Otherwise, if you'd like to try something different you can elevate your legs or try different hand positions, or knuckle push ups.

Sit Ups

Give your stomach some variety and try getting into normal sit up position and going half way up, and holding to the count of 10. Another sit up variant is bringing your right elbow up to your left knee and your left elbow to your right knee, alternating. These variants will work more muscles than your standard sit up.

Jumping Jacks

Jumping jacks are an excellent way to get blood flowing throughout your body. In fact any exercise that gets your arms above your heart are good cardiovascular exercises.

Sissy Squats

To perform a sissy squat hold onto a chair and squat down, then stand back up. These are a great way to work the quads and hamstrings.

Calf Raises

To perform a calf raise you raise your body by going up on the balls of your feet as if tiptoeing. This simple exercise can be performed while waiting in line or in your cubicle at work.
